About

My name is Steffi. I am an award winning Creative Director with more than 15 years of experience in both Print and Interactive Media. I am a passionate Design Lecturer and Researcher with a special interest in „Urban Typography“.

In 2001, I finished my studies of Communication Design with a German Diploma. Since then, I worked in well-known national and international agencies on numerous projects in the field of Communication Design, both in Print and Interactive Media. Until 2011, I worked as a Creative Director at Fork Unstable Media in Hamburg (Germany) for clients like RITTER SPORT and NIVEA.

My projects have been awarded several prizes, including red dots for high design quality (Essen, Germany), silver, and bronze medals at the DDC competition Kommunikation vernetzt (Frankfurt, Germany). My work got shortlisted at the Cyberlions (Cannes, France) and I was nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Good design is as little design as possible.

I taught Experimental Typography and Information Design at the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain in Germany. In their project „trytype – experiments in typography“, I worked as a Research Associate and co-authored the related book project.

Before moving to Vietnam, I taught at the Designhochschule Schwerin as a Professor of Interactive Media. As an Associate Lecturer at RMIT Vietnam, School of Communication and Design, I taught Interactive Media, Publication Design, and Typography within the Design Program (Digital Media). And I truly believe that „Print is not dead“.

My current research project „Signs of Saigon“ is related to Urban Typography and it follows the project: „Color, Type, and Pattern – Exploring the Visual Identity of Saigon“.

Since 2018 I am based in Berlin, Germany and I am teaching at the University of Applied Sciences, Berlin in the Master Program of Business Communication. My topics are „Design Concept, Media Concept and Design Thinking“.
